I'm always surprised by how fast the SIFMA tech conference seems to come around each year. In just nine days, hundreds of fintech companies will converge in the midtown Hilton hotel along with the occasional bag lady, shoving free branded trinkets into tote bags.

Interestingly, this year's conference has been renamed as the "Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum and Expo" vs last year's "Financial Services Technology Expo." Kudos to SIFMA for looking to bring a greater sense of thought leadership to a conference that has increasingly felt like a zoo than a forum.
